At 40 years old, I’ve got five kids, two grandbabies, and a solid caffeine addiction (it’s for survival, trust me). When I’m not wrangling my crew or sizzling up something tasty at the local grocery store, you’ll find me covered in fabric scraps, chasing down a rogue quilt block.
My sewing journey? Well, it started back in high school Home Ec—where I learned the basics, but let’s face it, I mostly taught myself (because reading instructions is overrated). Instead of following patterns to the letter, I use them as “polite suggestions.” Like a recipe—who actually measures the salt?
Born and raised in Missoula, Montana, I spent 26 glorious years within shouting distance of my hometown. Then, life decided to get spicy, and at 17, I became a mom! By 2009, with four kids in tow and a sense of adventure (or maybe just a lack of sleep), my spouse and I hauled the family to Illinois. We added one more kid to the bunch (yes, we were outnumbered) and hit our grand total: four girls, one boy. But in 2023, Montana’s mountains called me back—so here I am, settled in Livingston with my hubby, who builds stuff (while I build quilts).
Speaking of quilts, it all started with my husband nagging—ahem, I mean gently encouraging—me to make him a denim quilt like the one I whipped up in high school. So, naturally, I bought a heavy-duty sewing machine, a pile of supplies, and thought, “Sure, this’ll be easy!” Ha. Not so fast! Soon, my grandson needed a quilt. Then my kids. And before I knew it, my granddaughter arrived, demanding a blankie of her own (she didn’t say it, but I could tell).
The real twist? I started showing off my quilts at work, and next thing I knew, people were asking me to make one for their nieces, grandbabies, and even that cousin nobody talks to. I mean, who knew I’d go from making one denim quilt to quilting world domination?
So, here I am—turning my love for quilting into something that actually helps keep the lights on. If you’ve got a new baby on the way, someone impossible to shop for, or you just need a good excuse to cuddle up under something warm, I’m your girl. I’ll help you create something fun, personal, and totally unique (and probably sneak in a few jokes along the way).
Drop me a line, send a carrier pigeon, whatever works—I’m ready to stitch up something special for you!
